What do you think of 1/1s?

Well, what do you think of 1/1s?

Cool?

Crap?

Overdone?

Just right?

When done right: Awesome
When done in Topps Moments & Milestones: Kill me NOW.

Bad news. I prefer my cards to be affordable and realistically obtained.

I've never found one (or even seen one in real life), so I don't really care about them.

i got back into collecting 2 months ago after 14 years and pulled a 1/1 jeter 07 masterpiece urban gray linen out of a target pack (this was my 10th pack purchased then got addictted again) but other than that i have never seen anything other than that and have been thinkung that they are really the holy grail. but most are worthless because you do a 1/1 of a nobody in a set and you have another base card but it says 1/1 on it. and then a good amount are redemtions and by the time i or 50% of us find them they're expired and you have a 1/1 piece of paper woo hoo.

meh - I haven't gotten one yet. I would like to see a survey of what are going for more on ebay - Auto cards or 1/1. I think the 1/1 shoud be significantly less than autos, but I bet they are pretty close.

I mean who really is going to pay 28.00 for a Randy Wolf 1/1?

Have only pulled one. Sold it on Ebay. Have bought a couple since. (All printing plates.) While the thrill of owning them is cool I find them a little frustrating. As a team and player collector it makes it all but impossible to ever get close to 100% on any player or team.

I've been trying to pull a 1/1 for a while. I was lucky enough to pull a printing plate as the box topper. I used to love moments & milestones because it was so easy to pull one. But then I realized, doesn't that totally defeat the purpose of pulling one? I prefer true 1/1 ones over printing plates but I think it is a great Idea to make a card that is unlike any other.

I never realized that the one printing plate I had could be a 1/1.
But then again, WHO CARES? To me, unless it's a "name", it's as useful as the white cardboard, hah, screw you, you got a piece of white cardboard and not a GU card.

Real 1/1's like a legendary player relic/auto are something to wish for (but if you're like me and never buy high end boxes, you never expect to own one).
But printing plates to me "don't count" as far as completing a player collection, etc. I usually delete them from checklists I make. If I were to find one for a few bucks I might get it, but I generally ignore them.
