Chris vs. The Baseball Card Vending Machine

Two days later, I went back and bought the other 2001 Donruss Hobby pack.

When I was a kid, nothing was better than the card vending machine at the bowling alley/arcade. '96 Fleer Ultra all the way.

My dad would give me 5 bucks and what could beat a few rounds of Mortal Kombat in the arcade and a pack of Fleer Ultra.

I see these card vending machines at a few nearby minor league baseball stadiums. I never bought any cards from them for two reasons 1) they are way overpriced 2) the best packs were usually in the top row and the machine would drop the packs down to the bottom which from the loud thud had to damage the cards.

Product... Crap.
Fulham Kit... Brilliant!

I was a big fan of the set back in 2001... I wonder what I was thinking everytime I see the cards now. I was able to get three of the Rookies sets... Still not worth it.

There are a few of these machines up here in Northern NJ. Mostly in supermarkets, I will occasionally buy a pack of 2007 Fleer for $1.

Interestingly enough, I was made an offer to purchase and distribute several of these machines many years ago. Passed on it, one of the few money making schemes that I have passed on.
