Sticking Abe Lincoln, Mantle/Bush, or Giuliani into images they have no business being in sounds more like the MOT than these outright gaffes.
I admit that the Opening Day product has needed some kind of draw, but I don't think that these esoteric errors like the Halladay, Lee, and Iwamura cards are done on purpose.
These simply show a lack of interest in context and fact-checking while doing the editing job on the art. They're curious anomalies, but nothing special until Topps decides to correct them, if ever.
Maybe Topps felt Roy hadn't "earned his stripes" yet........bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha........sorry.
